Reviews: Leah Wall (USA) (2006/10/27):
I generally don't like romance novels but this book has a little more substance than your average romance novel. While not intellectually stimulating on any level it is an enjoyable read if you're looking for mindless entertainment.

Jaxon (USA: MI) (2008/09/22):
I'm a fan of Nora Roberts, I really am, but for some reason Montana Sky just really didn't hit home for me.

"When Jack Mercy died, he left behind a ranch worth nearly twenty million dollars to his three daughters—each born of a different marriage, and each unknown to the others. But before any of them can inherit Jack's legacy, they must live together on the ranch for one year. Sisters—and strangers—they face a challenge: to put their bitterness aside and live like family."

Don't get me wrong, the story is good and Robert's character development is just as good as any of her other novels, but I'm not a fan of the western ranch stories - not even the modern ones. There are a couple I like, but after a while, they all tend to sound a little like the same and I think this was just a bit too formulaic for me. Granted, Roberts can be a bit formulaic with her novels, but each novel/series always has their own unique element that makes it stand out from the rest. To me, this one just didn't have it. Plus, if I liked a story, parts of it will come back to me regardless of when I read it and that's just not happening with this one. I know the overall plot and everything that goes on, but there isn't a scene sticking out in my head.

Overall, if you're a fan of Nora Roberts, then you should check out Montana Sky. Afterall she is a phenomenal writer. However, if you haven't tried Roberts yet, I can think of other novels to start with. If you want to go the easy route with this book, it was just translated to the silver screen and I want to say it was running on the Lifetime channel for awhile.

I loved this book! I think it was one of her best!
